Questions

Which format should I pick?

JPG for photos, PNG for screenshots and anything with transparency, SVG for logos, HEIC or AVIF for the smallest photos on newer devices.

Can I resize at the same time?

Yes. Use Resize, or the Web Image recipe, which resizes to 1600 px and converts in one step.
