Morph

Convert PDF to Word

Morph pulls the text and paragraphs out of a PDF into a DOCX you can edit in Word, Pages or Google Docs, on your own computer.

How to do it

  1. Start dragging the PDF

In Finder or File Explorer, start dragging it and tap Shift.

  2. Drop it on DOCX

The Convert wheel opens under your cursor.

  3. Edit it

The DOCX is saved next to the PDF.

Where it works

Free and open source. Everything runs on your device: no uploads, no account, no ads, and your originals are never changed.

Questions

Does it keep the layout?

It keeps the text and paragraphs, which is what you need to edit or reuse the words. Columns, images and exact positions aren't carried over.

What about scanned PDFs?

A scan is a picture of text. Use Extract Text first to read the words, then paste them into a document.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Morph converts on your own device and makes no network requests, so nothing leaves it.
