Morph

Image to text: copy the words out of a photo

Extract Text reads the words in a photo, screenshot or scanned PDF and saves them as a text file. Read QR shows what a QR code or barcode says, without opening a link.

How to do it

  1. Open the image or PDF in Morph

  2. Choose Extract Text or Read QR

Both are on the Tools wheel.

  3. Copy the text

It's saved next to the original as a .txt file.

Where it works

Free and open source. Everything runs on your device: no uploads, no account, no ads, and your originals are never changed.

Questions

Does text recognition need internet?

No. It uses the recognition built into your device, so nothing is sent anywhere.

Does Read QR open the link?

No. Morph only shows what the code says, so you can check a link before visiting it.
