Compress a PDF
Scanned PDFs and documents full of photos get huge. Morph re-saves the images inside at screen resolution, so the file shrinks a lot while text stays sharp and selectable.
How to do it
Open the PDF in Morph
Drag it and tap ⌘ (Ctrl on Windows) for the Tools wheel, or share it to Morph on iPhone and Android.
Choose Compress
Morph shows the new size, like 8.4 MB → 1.2 MB.
Send it
The smaller PDF is saved next to the original, which stays untouched.
Where it works
- Mac Yes.
- Windows Yes.
- iPhone and iPad Yes, and in Shortcuts with Compress Files.
- Android Yes, along with photos and videos.
Free and open source. Everything runs on your device: no uploads, no account, no ads, and your originals are never changed.

Will the text still be selectable?
Yes. Morph only re-encodes the images inside the PDF; text and vector drawings are kept as they are.
Why didn't my PDF get smaller?
PDFs that are mostly text are already small. Morph says so instead of making a bigger file.
Is it safe for confidential documents?
Yes. Nothing is uploaded; the PDF is processed on your device.
